Who do you owe?

Recently in our home, we had a credit card cutting ceremony...it was awesome! To think that I no longer had to pay interest to some company who was taking advantage of my instant gratification and consumerism. I'm not saying owning stuff is bad, but when it came to my finances and the climbing monthly payments that we owed on credit cards, it didn't take a rocket scientist to realize that this was not the right way to save and keep my money.

There is this myth going around that in order to survive in life we have to have a credit card...and you know what it's not true! If you like plastic then use a Debit card cause it's the only way you will know how much you're spending as well as if you've hit your limit. Plus the nice thing is you won't have to pay a monthly fee to anyone but yourself if you've spent too much.

Don't let over spending ruin your life! Debt is not the answer, in fact, if you're wondering why our county is in the mess it is right now it's because of debt. People who can't afford homes were given mortgages that they could never pay...so goes the rest of the debt problem. If you can't afford something don't look for the easy solution in credit cards or high mortgages, rather devise a plan to save...it'll take you longer, but in the long run it will save you money and a lot of financial woes along the way.
